Richard "Dick" Ivan Hoover Obituary
Born February 1st 1926, in St Paul, Minnesota to Fern and Harold Hoover as the youngest of five children. He passed away peacefully at home on September 18, 2016 surrounded by family. Dick married Beverly June Falk on November 18, 1947 in Grantsburg, Wisconsin and shared 57 years of marriage until Beverly?s passing in September 2004. Dick is survived by his seven children; Lynn (Pat) Devine, Patty (Dick) Schoen, Becky (Phil) Warner, Kathy Hoover, Karen (Bill) Collison, Rick (Michele) Hoover, and David (Michelle) Hoover, 10 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and sister Helen Bowers. He served during WWII in the U.S. Navy as an underwater demolition team (UDT), and also trained as a Radioman. After a brief stint in Grocery store management, Dick went on to enjoy a career in real estate appraisal as a member of the American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers working for the Bureau of Reclamation, Washington State Highway department, private practice in Missoula MT, and later as the Spokane County Real Estate Officer. After retiring, Dick and Bev spent winters in Apache Junction, AZ, where Dick loved hiking and exploring in his Jeep. Dick was also an avid reader. His walk with God guided his life as he shared that love of God with his Sister and many others. He is a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Spokane, WA. Services will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 318 S Cedar St, Spokane, WA on September 29th at 2:00PM. He will be laid to rest at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Medical Lake, WA at a later date.
