Richard G. Tausch Obituary (Age 97) Our beloved Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather passed away peacefully on September 30, 2011 at his home in Spokane, WA. He was born on February 9, 1914 in St. Paul, MN to Gertrude and George Tausch. Richard began working for the Great Northern Railroad at the age of 16, retiring in 1974 as a Chief Mechanical Officer. He was married in St. Paul, MN to Veronica "Betty" Burianek and they were married for 38 years. Richard was an incredible father to six children, Richard R. Tausch (Linda), Joan Duroe (Bill), Judie Schimmels (Dick), Jeanie Wagenman, Jane Soderberg (Brian), and Jackie Morton (Scott). He was also a loving grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by (almost everyone), including his wife Betty, son-in-law Darrell, and great-grandson Cade. Richard could fix and build anything, but his and our favorite was the family cabin at Loon Lake. His love of music included playing various instruments and singing. His greatest source of enjoyment and pride was listening to all of his children play piano. To honor Richard's generous spirit, in lieu of flowers donations may be made to your favorite charity. A Rosary will be held at Heritage Funeral Home at 8:00PM on Friday, October 7th. The Funeral Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, 2320 N. Cedar at 11:00AM on Saturday, October 8th with a Graveside Service to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, 7200 N. Wall.
