Richard Glen "Dick" Page

Richard Glen "Dick" Page Obituary Dick was born in Bonners Ferry, Idaho to Glenn and Edith (Fletcher) Page. He passed away from a short illness December 28, 2010. After the family moved to Spokane, Dick attended Longfellow and Madison Elementary schools. He graduated from North Central High School-Class of 1958 and attended Eastern Washington State College. Dick worked at The Shack Restaurant for 46 years, starting as a busboy and retiring as the manager. An avid sports fan, Dick played baseball for the Moore Motel in grade school and was a pitcher at North Central. He followed all the local sports teams especially the Cougs, Eagles and Zags. He was known to wager on football games. Dick's love of the outdoors started as a small child with family camping trips to the northwest mountains of Montana. He was at home in the woods, camping, fishing, and huckleberry picking, passing time with friends. He was a great story teller. He was preceded in death by his parents Glenn and Edith Page, his father-in-law, J. Neil Gorrell and brother-in-law, Brian N. Gorrell. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Marlys (Gorrell) Page, children-Susan (Mike) Baker, Rick Page and Tricia Page and his beloved grandson, Alexander Page. Sisters-Carole (Dave) Pearl, Sandee (Monte) Sunde, Glenda (Jerry) Voelker, sister-in-"law Pam (Gary) Myhr and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a host dad to six exchange students, (five are still in contact). A Memorial Service will be held 1:00 PM, Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at Heritage Funeral Home. Family requests no flowers, preferring donations to Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery in his name or your favorite charity. The Nursery's Santa Breakfast at The Shack was one his favorite events.
