Richard Lee Booth, USAF (Ret.) Obituary Son of the late Dean and Thelma Booth of Ashland, Oregon. Preceded by "Nan and Bop", Wife Joan Meeker Booth, Brother-in-Law and military buddy "Big Joe" Fleck, and Son-in-Law Todd Cobb. Richard passed away to his next life at Sacred Heart Medical Center of Congestive Heart Failure. He was sang home by his eldest daughter Elizabeth. All of his children and grandchildren were able to say good-bye. Richard served his country for twenty years in the United States Air Force. He received the National Defense Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the Air Force Longevity Award, the Air Force Commendation, Presidential Unit Citation, Vietnam Service Medal, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and Air Force Outstanding Unit Award. We salute you Dad. He was a highly skilled photographer during the military and after as a commercial photographer. He received his informal training on the streets of Asia and his formal training at the Ohio Institute of Photography. Growing up, our bathroom doubled as his darkroom. Dad outlived his pacemaker and his diagnosis. He traveled the globe to see his friends on military hops: Japan, England, Denmark, New York, Texas, and most recently drove his daughters to Crater Lake. He pursued his spirituality endlessly through Reiki (Master) and meditation at Inner Journeys Center. He fellowshipped with all the Friends of Bill W. as they were his family too. Hey guys, Dad made 29 years this October. He is survived by daughters Elizabeth (Dave) Bakken; Lynda Booth; Roberta (mother-in-law Kay) Cobb. Grandchildren Robert(Jeanie), Abigail, Jenna (Harry), Andrea, Adam, Samuel, Benjamin, Kaylee, and Ryan. Great-grandchildren Isaiah, AnnMarie, Daisy and Malik. Skippy the cat misses grandpa too. Special heartfelt thanks to Dr. Susan Alexander and the staff of Manor Care. A memorial service will be held January 31, 2011 (our parents' anniversary) at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. There will be an inurnment following for Richard and Joan at Washington State Veterans Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, we would request small gifts that will be donated for prizes at Bingo at Manor Care in honor of our Father who fought like a soldier 'till the end--Mission Accomplished Dad. Peace.
