16-Mar-16

Richard Lee "Mac" McDaniel Obituary On March 16, 2016, Richard Lee ?Mac? McDaniel left us after a short battle with cancer. Mac was born in the coal-mining valley of Acme, West Virginia, in 1934. There, he paid one dollar for an updated birth certificate in order to join the United States Air Force. He started supporting the efforts of the Korean War. Through his travels around the world, Mac was stationed in Duluth, Minnesota, where he found his princess bride, Josephine Antunovich, at a dance in February 1953. They married in June 1955, started their journey traveling the world, and created their family; Joey/Joe, Connie, Kelly, and Steve. After twenty-two years in the Air Force, the family retired in their paradise of Spokane, Washington, to enjoy the peaceful lifestyle, ample resources, and four distinct seasons. Mac enjoyed the Northwest fishing on the Snake River, camping and hunting in the mountainous terrain, and huckleberry picking in North Idaho. Along with his wife and children, Mac is succeeded by his four grandchildren; Bryan, Brianna, Kyle, and Shannon, and his three great-grandchildren; Logan, Kelsey, and Austin. He was an exceptional provider and his family is grateful for that. He had an effect on so many lives and helped countless people with his support, insight, and life experiences. We are happy he will always be with us. His stories, wisdom, and values will live on through each and every one of us. We will miss you forever. Mac was preceded in death by his brother, Talmadge, and his sister, Gladys. He is survived by three sisters; Nancy, Nelda, and Sandra. Mac was a simple man and wished for no memorial service. Instead he would have liked everyone to enjoy the outdoors, their family, and their loved ones.
