Richard "Rich" Hartley Wurz

Richard "Rich" Hartley Wurz Obituary Rich passed into God's loving hands on June 21, 2009 at the age of 59. He was surrounded by his family and died peacefully at home. Rich was born on Sept. 27, 1949. He made the decision to trust in Jesus at the age of 18. He was diagnosed with Crohn's Disease when he was 19 and was able to complete his degree in mechanical engineering at Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, CA. He married Kathy, the love of his life, on July 31,1971 and moved from his home in Salinas, CA to Phoenix, AZ where he worked for Westinghouse followed by Salt River Project for the last 32 years. He enjoyed model trains, working with computers, playing games with his grandkids, and always had a project in the house he was working on. He left behind a legacy of love and is survived by his wife Kathy of 39 years; daughter Jenny, her husband Scott Hurd and their kids Kayla, Kody, Jake, Katie, Emily, and Noah; daughter Pam, her husband Donnie Johnson and their son Silas; daughter Beth and her daughter Faith; and brothers David and Jim. Rich loved his family deeply and loved the Lord with all his heart, soul, and mind. He touched many lives and will be greatly missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mirabeau Chapel located at 3001 N. Pines, Spokane Valley, WA 99206 at 10:00am on Friday, June 26, 2009. Rich believed in supporting his church. In lieu of flowers donations may given be to Liferoads Church 4209 E. Pacific, Spokane, WA 99202 in his memory.
