Richard "Rick" Craig Wood Obituary Rick passed away on May 27, 2009 at his home in Spokane, WA and went to be with the Lord after a battle with cancer. Rick was born on February 7, 1943 in Portland, Oregon to Richard and Madeline (Scott) Wood. He grew up in Oregon and graduated from the University of Oregon in 1965. In 1969, Rick married Virginia. Together they moved to Spokane in 1971 where they raised three children. As a loving husband, father, and grandfather, Rick spent time with his family creating many memories that will be fondly remembered. He was known for being warm, joyful, outgoing, a great conversationalist, and committed to his faith in Jesus Christ. Rick had a great skill with numbers and a love for learning which he put to use in his career as a tax consultant. In addition to his career, Rick took great interest in the community and took an energetic role in local politics. Rick was an active member of Northview Bible Church, Gideons International, the Portland Jaycees, and Alpha Kappa Psi. Rick is survived by his wife Virginia Wood of 39 years, his two sons Edward Wood and Gregory Wood, his daughter Gloria Van Mason and her husband Eric, his two grandsons Emmett Van Mason and Henry Van Mason, and his sister Marsha Krohn. A memorial service will be held at 11:30am on Saturday, May 30, 2009 at Northview Bible Church, 13521 N Mill Rd, Spokane, WA.
