Richard Rodney Erickson Obituary Richard passed on July 30, 2011 after a courageous eighteen month battle with cancer. The son of Frank and Lucille Erickson was born September 5, 1942 in Jamestown, North Dakota. The family and his grandparents left the farm in 1944 and moved to Spokane where he has remained. Richard graduated from Continuation High School in Spokane and had employment opportunities with Arby's, lawn care and Goodwill Industries. His fondness for cats, oil painting, picking fruit at Greenbluff and bowling occupied most of his time. He was a member of the Spokane Valley Methodist Church, several bowling leagues and a participant in the Special Olympics. He is survived by his brothers Francis (Carol Giboney)and John (Gail Young) and sister Veda (Don) Ells. A Memorial service for Richard is scheduled for Friday, September 9th at 3:00 PM in the chapel at Community Cremation Service Spokane Valley, 13127 E Sprague.
