Robert A. Miller Obituary
A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Robert A. Miller passed away the morning of December 18, 2010. In his 78 years he touched the lives of many with his charismatic personality, infectious smile and easygoing demeanor. Bob was a tried and true "people person." Bob was born June 3, 1932 in Chewelah, WA to parents Cora and Leon Miller and two older brothers, Gordon Miller and Dr. Ernest Miller. Bob graduated from John Rogers High School in 1950. In the early days Bob could be found hitting pucks on the ice or shooting hoops on the basketball court. He was also a member of the Eagles Marching Band with his brother Gordon and father Leon. In 1951 he married his "other half" Jackie Miller and they spent the next 59 years enjoying life to the fullest, making great memories along the way. Bob spent his free time snowmobiling, fishing, hunting and golfing. Wherever Bob was he was surely with his wife Jackie at his side and surrounded by dear friends and family. He was employed for 32 years with Washington Water Power. In 1989 Bob and Jackie moved from Spokane to Seven Bays, WA. Their Seven Bays home quickly became the site of the annual Millers' Reunion held each summer. Bob was affectionately coined "Ol' Timer", a name that remained his whole life. In 1994 Bob and Jackie moved to Deer Meadows, WA. Bob spent time as a volunteer firefighter and was also a school bus driver for the Creston School District. The last few years Bob could be found having morning coffee with "the boys" in Seven Bays. Bob had a true zest for life and left an imprint on the hearts of many. He will truly be missed but has left us all with a lifetime of memories to cherish. Bob is survived by his wife, Jackie Miller; his daughter and her spouse, Kim and Randy Poage of Spokane, WA; his son and his spouse, Wayne and Debbi Miller of Ferndale, WA; his grandson, Bradley Miller of Ulm, Germany; his granddaughter and her spouse, Melissa and Chris Hansen of Seattle, WA; and his great-granddaughter, Natalie Hansen. A memorial service honoring the life of Bob Miller will be held Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at 1 pm at the Seven Bays Community Center. Donations may be made to Lincoln Hospital in thanks of their care and support.
