December 25, 1930 - October 04, 2012

Robert Aldus Clouse Obituary (Age 81) Robert passed away October 4, 2012. He was born on Christmas Day 1930 to Royal and Elva Clouse in Rock Lake, ND. The family moved to Clayton, WA in 1944 where Bob attended school graduating from Deer Park High School in 1949. It was in Clayton where he met and married Lucille Gibson. The couple moved to Spokane where their 4 sons Ron, Gary, Richard and David were born. Bob worked many years for US Plywood and later for DiGiorgio Corporation, retiring early due to illness. He married Mary Alphonse in 1959 and they celebrated their 50th anniversary before Mary was incapacitated due to Alzheimer's disease. The couple lived many years at their lake home in Sagle, ID eventually moving back to Spokane where they attended Heritage Congregational Church. Bob was an instant friend to everyone he met, his radiant smile always sparkled in spite of the years of pain he spent combating rheumatoid arthritis. He enjoyed hunting and carpentry and because of his love for woodworking, he built a garage and an addition on the cabin on their Sagle property. His lamps made of Diamond Birch trees that he cut down and stripped himself are gracing the homes of many family members. Most recently Bob was instrumental in planning the transporting and restoration of the eagle from the Washington State National Guard Armory back to Clayton, where is was originally made at the Brickyard. It now stands at its original home in Clayton, WA. Bob was also the 2012 Clayton Brickyard Day Co-Grand Marshall. He loved his wife and sons wholeheartedly. His last six months were joyfully spent at Lilac Plaza where he traveled as far as the battery in his little red scooter would take him! He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Larry and son Gary. Bob is survived by his wife Mary, sons Ron and Richard of Spokane, and Dave of Arizona, his brother Don Clouse of Spokane, along with his Aunt Ila Granlund of Spokane, and 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday, October 10 at noon at Heritage Funeral Home. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Robert, please visit our Tree Store.
