Robert "Bob" D. French Obituary Passed away at his home on August 5, 2009. He was born September 23, 1927 in Wenatchee, WA. As a youth he lived with his family in Cashmere, WA where thefamily resided. As a teenager, summers were spent working in the apple orchards and in the fall, because of the labor shortage brought on by World War II, in the harvest. Bob graduated in 1945 from Cashmere High School and that same year enrolled at the University of Washington. Following his graduation he entered military service, which was at the time of the Korean War. His two years of service were in Germany with the 4th Infantry Division and the 44th Field Artillery Battalion. This was the first infantry division to return to Europe at the time of the formation of NATO. Following his discharge he returned to the State of Washington and Yakima where he was employed at the Kieckhefer Container Company, which manufactured corrugated containers for the fruit industry. In 1956 he moved to Spokane and joined the Washington Trust Bank, retiring in 1989 as a Vice President in the commercial loan department. In 1964 he married Margaret (Maggie) Krause of Spokane in a ceremony at The Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist. Maggie passed away in the year 2000. Bob was an avid skier in his younger days and enjoyed fly fishing with his son Steve on Idaho rivers. He was a member of The Cathedral of St. John. Bob is survived by his son Steve and granddaughtersEmma and Lucy of Moscow, ID. At Bob's request there will be a family service only at the Columbarium of The Cathedral of St. John.
