Robert "Bob" J. Carroll

Robert "Bob" J. Carroll Obituary (Age 78) Passed away Sunday, September 20, 2009. He was born November 29, 1930 in Yakima, WA to Howard and Goldie Faye Carroll. Bob worked on a farm after graduating from Tekoa High School and joined the U.S. Army where he served for four years. In 1957 he married Cassie who preceded him in death. He worked for Senske Weed and Pest Control and Bestway Spray Service. In 1980, Bob, an arborist, started his own business, The Trimmer Landscaping. Bob enjoyed dancing so he joined the Day Out for The Blind, a social organization where he met Dorothy Anderson, and on July 15, 2001, they were married. Bob enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved to be around people. He was very involved with the blind community. He belonged to and was president of the Manito Lions Club. Bob and Dorothy chaired a convention in Spokane for the Washington State Council of the Blind. He was a member and treasurer of United Blind of Spokane and a member of Hope for Blind Veterans. Bob was a faithful member of Mission Community Presbyterian Church where he was an Elder. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy, at the home; son, Robert L. (Annie) Carroll and daughter, Theresa M. (Jay) Fletcher of Spokane; three sisters, Dorothy M. Decker, Portland, OR, Irma F. Weber, Fort Lauderdale, FL and Mary L. Hamlen, Walla Walla, WA; 19 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren; step-children, Doug (Jill) Anderson , Debbie (Terry) Leason , Darcy Anderson, all of Spokane and Dan (Ginny) Anderson, Winter Park, FL. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 3, 2009, 11:00 AM at Mission Community Presbyterian Church, 2103 E. Mission Ave., Spo
