Robert D. Krieg Obituary Robert D. Krieg was born on December 13, 1935 to Arnold and Alice (Kotas) Krieg, in Carroll, Iowa. His father passed away when he was very young so was raised by his mother. He grew up in Iowa and graduated from Ames High School. He also attended Iowa State for a time before enlisting in the Air Force. He was in the Military Police and was stationed in Africa, Morocco, and then Geiger Field. He met Dolores Ahlers and they married in Valley, WA. They had two sons: Bruce (Denise) Krieg, Jerome (Teena) Krieg, and four daughters: Debbie (Bernie) Krull, Cheryl (Greg) Gavin, Pamela (Mark) Goodman, Robin (Mike Wahlert) Anderson. He was also blessed with 16 grandchildren: Mandi (Jason), Lescia, Clifton (Nicole), Bradley, Melissa, Ryan (Lisa), Sara (Brice), Christopher, Chelsea (Frank), Lindsey, Zachary (Rachel), Marcus (Ashley), Brittany (Michael), Jacquelyn, Cody, and Dylan; 11 great-grandchildren: Cameron, Nile, Reese, Kylie, Brayden, Ronan, Vincent, Reagan, Chase, Carter, and Wyatt. His greatest passion was watching his kids and grandkids in their activities and encourage them to the fullest. For the last five years he resided at Appleway Court in Spokane Valley where he enjoyed socializing with other residents. The family would like to thank the Veterans Home in Spokane for the care. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brothers Russ and Dale. The service will be Friday, February 12th at 1:00pm at Pines Cemetery, 1402 S. Pines Rd. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery at 8th & Thierman. Celebration of life will follow at 3:30pm at Appleway Court Commons Area, 221 S. Farr Rd.
