August 15, 1924 - March 20, 2009

Robert Helt Obituary Robert Helt born on 8-15-1924 Was laid to rest beside the love of his life, Our Mother MaryEtta Helt on March 20th, 2009 After battling a long road of Alzheimer's. Robert was born to Barbara and Manual Helt in Endicott WA. His parents came to the states from Russia via boat after having to have their children divided up due to only being able to bring one child with them on the boat to America. Their other child was sent over with another couple that did not have children in hopes that they would meet up again. They did and that is when they started their hard working days farming so they could raise their family. Robert leaves behind his three children: son Gale Helt of Spokane, WA, son Randy Helt of Post Fall's ID and his daughter Lorri Kilduff and Husband John Kilduff of Spokane WA. Three grandchildren: Holly Culver and husband Chris Culver of Missoula, MT, Derek Helt of Spokane,WA, Amie Hornung and Chris Hornung of Boston, MA. Robert also leaves three great- grandchildren. Mckenzie Culver, Camren Culver and Emma Helt, along with several nieces and nephews. After our father and mother married they moved to Spokane were they continued to farm and then decided to start a family. Rob went to work for Rainbow Oil where he delivered oil to residents in the Spokane area. He then went to work for Inland Asphalt Company where he was a superintendent of the paving crew and paved the roads of Montana for 21 years. He had the pleasure of being able to have his sons work beside him in part of that journey in his life. After parting from Inland Asphalt. Our parents decided to buy an upholstery business called Les's Vinyl Repair were they did repair work for several department stores, restaurants and for residents of the Spokane and Coeur'd Alene area. When our mother passed away in 1991 the business closed and our father retired. He sold his ranch on Rocky Hill Lane were he worked so hard and purchased a home in the Spokane Valley area where he lived and found a true friend and companion Nellie Auckerman. Nellie never tried to take the place of our mother and we thank God for directing them to each other. They traveled and had fun together. Thank you Nellie for making that part of our father's dream come true and for being beside him. Our father loved the outdoors working in the yard, gardening pulling weeds and watching things grow. But most of all he loved to help people if he could. He will truly be missed. Our great-uncle (our mother's uncle) Don Tiede passed away on February 23, 2009. Our families have decided to have a combined celebration of life together for our fathers on June 14th at the home of Pat and Chris Anderson at 2501 N. Sunrise Lane in Liberty Lake ,WA from 12 to 4:00 p.m. This is a time to share pictures and stories of all the wonderful memories we will always cherish. If you should have any pictures that you would like to share, please mail them to Lorri Kilduff at 1006 N. Saint Charles Rd., Spokane Valley, Wa 99037. We will be putting together a remembrance board. We love you Dad. And we miss you. Rest in Peace. If you wish to make a donation please make donations to the Alzheimer's Association Inland NW Chapter, 910 W.5th Ave., Spokane, WaA99204. Let's help find a cure.
