Robert J. "Bobb" Strahl Obituary (Age 74) Passed away April 17, 2016. He was born January 2, 1942 in Spokane. He attended Adams Elementary, Lewis and Clark High School and Eastern Washington College (now EWU). He began working for the Northern Pacific Railroad in 1962 as a switchman/brakeman until his retirement in 1995 with the Burlington Northern Railroad. During that time Bobb also worked as a realtor for 10 years and spent six years as a drill sergeant in the Army Reserve with the 104th Division at Trentwood Reserve Center. A longtime advocate of local youth sports, Bobb spent decades coaching and developing many young athletes. He also served on the Spokane Junior Baseball board for 30 years and enjoyed watching his grandkids play sports. Living in the same neighborhood for the last 38 years, Bobb cherished the friendship and support from his wonderful neighbors. Bobb is survived by his brother Butch; sisters Jean and Sandi and their families; his children Mark, Leigh-Ann, Venica and Bobby and their families. At his request there will not be a service.
