Robert "Ken" Kenneth Williams Obituary (Age 70) Ken went to be with the Lord on April 30, 2016. He was born November 8, 1945 to Robert and Anna Williams in Spokane. He graduated from North Central High School in 1965. In 1968, Ken enlisted in the United States Army. He served two years in Germany and one year in the Vietnam War where he earned many medals including the Bronze Star and the Army Commendation medal with the V for Valor. After the war, Ken transferred to the Washington National Guard and was deployed to South Korea for two months. He remained with the Washington National Guard for many years. He finished his military career as Staff Sergeant. It was in those years that he began working for the Greenwood / Riverside Memorial Association. He continued to work there for 37 years. Throughout life, Ken had many hobbies. He loved the outdoors and being at the lake with family, playing golf and building toy train sets. Later in life, one of his greatest joys came from playing cards and cribbage with his friends from the Corbin Center. Ken was a devoted father and grandfather and would do anything for his family. He is survived by his sister Rose, four children, Keith, Darrel, Wanita and Shawn, and five grandchildren Casey, Conner, Collin, Noah and Riley. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ralph and his grandson Andrew. A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Thursday May 5, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. A celebration of his life will take place at the Corbin Center 827 W. Cleveland, following the graveside service. Special thanks to the staff at the Veterans nursing home for taking such good care of him during the last couple of years.
