Robert Nelson Sills Obituary (Age 77) Passed away on Wednesday January 4, 2017 after a long bout with Cancer. He was surrounded by his family and faithful dog Sugar. Robert was born on February 21, 1939 to Thomas Jefferson Sills and Eva Mae Langley in Spokane. He attended North Central High School and Spokane Community College. He lived most of his life in Spokane, with a brief time in Auburn, WA. Robert was a very hard worker and drove truck for several companies including Shell Oil, Arrow Transportation and Garrett Freightlines among others. He then purchased his own trucks and started R & C Trucking doing long haul trucking. Several years ago he became interested in old cars. He was a previous member of the Inland Empire Model T Club and a current member of the Early Ford V8 Club. He enjoyed the many tours we had with these clubs and the numerous National V8 tours he attended. His longest was to Branson, Missouri in his 1940 Ford. Robert was also a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. After he purchased our motorhome we had many good times, going South in the winter when circumstances allowed. During this time he developed an interest in wood carving. He had the gift of gab and wherever we went he was able to make friends easily. Robert is survived by his wife Carol; daughters Bonnie Stites (Glenn) and Deanna Sills-Pillow (Justin); 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers Jim Sills (Margaret) and Thomas Sills (Ruth); sister Wilma Meyers; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Jerry Joseph, sister Geraldine, his mother Eva Mae and father Thomas Jefferson Sills. Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday, January 9th and 10th from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM at Heritage. A celebration of Roberts life will be held Wednesday January 11th, at 12:00 PM Noon at First Free Methodist Church, 1725 W. Courtland, Spokane.
