Bob Obituary Robert L Olson (Bob) was born on May 29, 1932 in Douglas, Wyoming, and passed away on June 1, 2023 in Spokane, Washington. He was the 2nd son of Nels (Victor) and Ethel Olson. His siblings were Richard, Reita, and William (Bill). Bob grew up in Douglas and Lander Wyoming, graduating from Lander Valley High School in 1950. Bob joined the Air Force in 1953 and had four years of active duty in Bremerhaven, Germany until 1957. Afterwards, he spent 20 years in the Air Force Reserve as a Load Master. During his service, he took many trips all over the world, with many to Southeast Asia during the Vietnam war. One of his proudest moments was returning several POW�s back to the USA from the �Hanoi Hilton� in Vietnam. Bob moved to Pismo Beach, California with his family in 1951. He attended San Luis Obispo Community College, and after his active duty with the Air Force, he received a Bachelor�s Degree from UC Santa Barbara. After college, he became a real estate appraiser and worked for the Los Angeles County Assessor�s office. He met his wife, Raymonde (Rae), at a friend�s engagement party in the Los Angeles area and they were married in 1965. Together they had two children, David and Jennifer. They resided in Cypress, California from 1971 to 2003. In 1990, at their 25th wedding anniversary, they began travelling yearly on international trips to Europe, North Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Asia. In 2003, Bob and Rae moved to Spokane, Washington, where they built a home on acreage for retirement. Bob was a woodworking enthusiast and loved to tinker in his workshop. He also enjoyed bicycling. Bob was thrilled to become a grandfather in 2010. He loved his �little sweethearts,� Emma, Sarah and Sophie. Bob is survived by his wife, Rae, his son, David, his daughter, Jennifer (Kyle), and his three grandchildren, Emma, Sarah and Sophie. � To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Bob, please visit our Tree Store.
