Robert Ross "Bob" Palmer Obituary (Age 87) Passed away peacefully February 15, 2017 in Spokane, WA. He was born May 14, 1929 in Chicago, IL to Roscoe H. and Wanda M. (Jameson) Palmer. They moved to Spokane when Bob was 5 yrs. old. He attended Franklin Elementary School and graduated 6 months earlier than his class from Lewis and Clark High School in 1947. Bob received a Bachelor of Arts in Education at Eastern Washington State College and a Master of Education from Eastern as well. He also received a Master of Science degree at Oregon State University. Bob served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and later in the Army Reserves as a Master Sergeant. He was married to Rose Luise Agee from 1958-1979, then married Virginia M. McCoy in April 1980. Bob is survived by his 3 children: Lara (Craig) Beazer, Russell Palmer and Nancy Palmer and his sister, Mary Kay Dayharsh. Also survived by his 3 granddaughters: Angela Beazer and her fianc Chad Furlott, Shelley (Blake) Snedaker, Kristina (Kevin) Hronek; 8 great-grandchildren; his first wife Rose Luise Phillips and many nieces and nephews. He spent his 30 yr. teaching career with Spokane School Dist. #81, spending the majority of his career as a math teacher at Glover Jr. High. He had a reputation as a hard but fair teacher. Bob loved to joke and have fun and always had a twinkle in his eye. He loved trains and streetcars, short wave radio, traveling, computers, trying to 'beat the odds' playing slot machines in Reno and Christmas Eve parties. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Virginia, and nephew Jerald Evans. The family would like to thank Mikhail, Yelena and Daniel Kutsar of Pleasant Comfort Adult Family Home for their loving care of Bob the past 4 years. Funeral Service will be at 11 am on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at Heritage Funeral Home with viewing beginning at 9am. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Remembrances can be made to Shriner's Hospital in Spokane.
