Robert S. Schermerhorn Obituary (Age 92) Bob was born in Spokane and grew up in the Clarkston-Lewiston area. After graduating from Clarkston H.S., he enlisted in the Marine Corp., fighting in WWII. He married Mary Krause in 1949 and they were together for 63 years, making Spokane their home. Bob was a graduate of Gonzaga and Eastern. He worked for Darigold Farms and various lumber mills in the area. He loved reading, gardening and golf. He especially enjoyed cutting firewood with his boys and volunteering at church. Every winter he was out bright and early snow blowing all the sidewalks on the block. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Mary and brothers, Phillip and Richard. He is survived by his sister, Nancy; daughters, Robin (Kirk) Whitmore and Sally (Dan) Blair; sons, John (Sue), Mark (Dinah), Luke (Linda), Matthew (Amy), Daryl, Daren (Pam), William (Gabby); 14 grandkids and 4 great-grandkids. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Tuesday, December 20th, at St. Augustine Church, 428 W. 19th Ave., with a reception to follow.
