Robert W. Petty Obituary (Age 91) Bob passed away in Spokane, WA on June 20, 2013. He was born on September 11, 1921 to William B. and Beatrice (Saunders) Petty in Buffalo Gap, SD. He was raised in Hot Springs, SD and graduated Hot Springs High School in 1939. Bob went on to serve in WWII in the Army Air Corps. While serving on the USAAF 96th Bomb Squadron, he was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross. After the war, Bob would graduate the University of Montana with a degree in Journalism. He became the editor for several newspapers in Montana and Washington. Bob loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving Bob in death is his son, Dirk Petty (Diane) of Bellingham, WA. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and 3 sons; Bryce Petty, Scott Petty and Steven Petty. Thank you to the wonderful staff at Royal Park Care Center for taking such good care of Bob these past couple of years. A graveside inurnment with military honors will be held at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W Wellesley Ave, Spokane, WA on Friday, June 28, 2013 at 3:30 pm.
