Roberta Dresback

August 20, 1932 - December 03, 2009

Roberta Dresback Obituary (Age 77) Roberta Dresback was born the first of four daughters in Livingston, Montana on August 20, 1932 to Edith and J. Everett Pepper. She passed away December 3, 2009. Her father was in the Army Signal Corps and they moved from eastern Montana to Longbranch, New Jersey then to Sacramento, California. Roberta was 10 years old and living in Sacramento, California when she and her family received the devastating news that her father was killed in the war. She moved back to Montana with her mother and three sisters where her mother eventually married Ted Cox. Her mother's new marriage brought a brother, Bob Cox and a sister Doris Cox into the family. Roberta attended school in Wilsall, Montana and graduated high school from Prarie Bible Institute in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada in 1950. Roberta married Keel Dresback in October of 1951 and they had one daughter and three sons. After working a few years on the wheat farm for Roberta's grandfather in Montana, Keel was called into the ministry and became an ordained minister. As a pastor's wife for more than 40 years, Roberta helped Keel minister to churches in Big Timber, MT, Billings, MT, Spokane, WA, Sandpoint, ID and Sprague, WA. His ministry brought Roberta and the family to First Evangelical Free Church in Spokane, Washington in 1970. In addition to playing the piano in church, the "pastor's wife" also helped the family by working outside the home. She held many outside jobs while married, some of which include working for the Spokane City Planning Office, Administrative Assistant to Spokane Mayor Ron Bair during EXPO 74, working for the Airport Board buying property to expand the runway, and working for New York Life in insurance sales and financial planning. Roberta was preceeded in death by her husband Keel Dresback, her father J. Everett Pepper, her step-father Ted Cox, her mother Edith Pepper, Cox, Wagnitz, her step-brother Bob Cox and her great-granddaughter Evelyn Nelson. Roberta is survived by her children David Dresback of E. Wenatchee, WA, Diana (Tim) Gaston, Jim (Diane) Dresback and Mark (Kathy) Dresback all of Spokane, WA; her sisters Pat (Doug) Weaver of Los Angeles, CA, Doris Kutz of Coeur d'Alene, ID, Jo (Ken) Briggs of Los Angeles, CA and Karen (Bill) Coulter of Houston, TX along with many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her grandchildren Kyle (Karen) Dresback, Shelby (Ryan) Miles, Grant McAdams, Joshua (Autumn) Potter, Naphtali (Tim) Branam, Joy(Jason) Lawrence, Stephanie (Chris) Nelson, Nathan (Julie) Dresback, Rebekah Dresback, Jonathan (Heather) Dresback, Andrew Dresback and Christian Dresback. She is also survived by 10 beloved great grandchildren. There will be a private memorial service.
