Roger Gene “Pete” Prior

Roger Gene “Pete” Prior of Spokane, Washington was born on March 20,1936 and passed away on April 5, 2025. 


Roger was born in Twin Falls, Idaho and graduated from Quincy High School (Washington) in 1954.  After two years serving in the U.S. Army as an Infantry and Intelligence Specialist, he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Eastern Washington State College.


Roger taught business subjects in high school and junior college for several years and then owned and operated McCoy’s Arts and Crafts for 27 years, before retiring.


He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Alice Dorene Prior.  His children: Curt Prior (Jeanell) and Kelly Prior (Diane), his grandchildren: Patrick Prior (Kendall), Katie Sathre (Will), Jackson Prior, and Parker Prior and his great-granddaughter: Aurora Sathre.


Celebration of Life is scheduled for 2 p.m. on April 18, 2025 at Fairmount Memorial Park Sunset Chapel; 5200 W. Wellesley Ave. in Spokane.
