Roger Simmons Schuyler Obituary Roger passed away quietly on July 10, 2011 with his wife, Ginny, at his side. Rogers beautiful wife was responsible for giving him over 30 of the best years of his life. Also adding to his quality of life were the 2 wonderful children and their spouses and 6 absolutely super grandchildren who came with the marriage. Roger was brought up in South Pasadena, CA and was a Business major at the University of Arizona. He started 2 successful businesses: a technical publications company (Imagemakers, Inc.) in Silicon Valley, and a craft manufacturing business (Smith River Forge) near the California/Oregon border. He spent 2 years in the Army in Europe: 1 year in Austria and 1 in Northern Italyvery nice duty when you can get it. All in all, its been a very good life. (Those were Rogers words, written on 6-29-11.) Roger was born on 8-08-32 to Philip and Helen Schuyler. He is survived by his wife, Ginny; stepson, Christopher Cook (Kathi) of Spokane, stepdaughter, Kathleen Wraith (Charles) of Danville, CA; grandchildren Kelsey Cook, Melaina Hamlin, Robert Cook, Grant Cook, Stephanie Wraith, and Tim Wraith; his brother, Philip Schuyler of San Marcos, CA; a niece, nephew and numerous cousins. Roger was always ready with a wry smile, a twinkle in his eye, and a genuine, easy laugh. His heart was kind, generous, loyal, and romantic. His spirit was as boisterous as his voice. Roger had a limitless supply of artistic inspiration, coupled with the rare ability to turn that inspiration into reality, leaving the world a more beautiful place. We will miss him terribly, but we are honored to be able to carry him in our hearts. Special thanks to the following doctors for their compassionate care: Cancer Care Northwest, Drs. Nichols and Lee; Providence Pulmonary Oncology, Dr. Loewen; Gamma Knife of Spokane, Dr. Demakas; Physicians Clinic of Spokane, Dr. Dutta; Providence-Medford Cancer Center, Dr. Haugen; and the professionals of Hospice of Spokane. Box 2215, Spokane 99210. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, August 6th at St. Stephens Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry, Spokane, WA. 99223.
