April 21, 1942 - November 15, 2015
Ron G. Walter Obituary (Age 73) Ronald "Ron" G. Walter went to heaven all too soon on November 15, 2015 at the age of 73. He was born on April 21, 1942 in Odessa, Washington, to Jacob J. Walter and Sarah Elizabeth (nee Scrupps) Walter. He grew up on the family ranch with two brothers, Jim and Jay, outside the town of Odessa. Growing up on the ranch with his brothers instilled in Ron the work ethic, attention to detail, and satisfaction from a task done right that we all knew him so well for. He graduated from Odessa High school in 1960. He married Connie (nee Porter) O'Brien-Connelly in 1962. They had three children: Ronda, Jeff and Jill. Ron would later marry Linda Mickelson in 1972. Ron moved to Spokane to begin a long, successful career in the hydraulics, machining, pneumatic and fabrication industry starting with Bitco, which later became Kaman Bearing. Ron retired in 2006, never encountering a problem he was unable to solve. He continued on with his work as a consultant. He learned and loved to fly, garden, and snowmobile. His summer weekends were spent boating with his family. He is survived by his wife Linda M. Walter; his three children: Ronda Walter-Mazzie (Terry), their three children Nick, Ryan and Aly; Jeff Walter (Cathy) and their two daughters Caitlin and Cassidy; Jill Walter and her three children, Caleb, Ethan and Ellie. His grandchildren were the highlight of his life. He took great pride in sharing his experiences with them, imparting many life lessons he had gathered along his journey. Careful instruction given to his grandchildren on how to till a garden, or mow a lawn kept his yard looking amongst the best in his neighborhood. He loved them and was so proud of them for all of their accomplishments. They will miss him and remember him always. Ron is also survived by his brothers Jim Walter (June) and Jay Walter (Kay); and numerous nieces and nephews. He remained close to his brothers - his best and lifelong friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Jacob J. and Sarah Walter and a stepson Christopher Domonoske.
