Ronald Burton Miller Obituary �FATE KNOCKING ON YOUR DOOR� This was how Beethoven described the opening 4 notes of the famous 5th Symphony. A Symphony that resonated in the life of Ronald Burton Miller who sadly let fate take him on October 23, 2015. Ron was a consummate professor, teaching at Ferris High school the year it opened in 1962, then transferring to chair the History Department at Lewis and Clark High School and then working as an Administrator for Spokane District 81 as Liason to the business community. This is where Ron�s passion of reading, traveling and community service made him such a leader in Spokane. Ron was on numerous boards including MAC, Junior Achievement, Boy Scouts, Red Cross, Spokane Public Library-trustee Emeritus. He was a founding board member of KSPS �Friends of 7� and WAMPUM. Ron, as a group of 4 started The Comstock Spokane Symphony Concert in the Park. Ron graduated from Lewis and Clark High School, University of Washington, served as a Lt. in the Army, then acquired his Masters Degree from Gonzaga University. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Ben and Sylvia Miller and his brother Billy. Ron is survived by his wife Melissa Gaetano; son Jeff (Marnie); daughter Temira Hatchand; three step-children Kim West (Russ), Krisi Flom (Brent), Andrew Gaetano (Megan); two granddaughters Taryn and Jillian Hatch and eight step-grandchildren. The end of Ron�s life was greatly enhanced by his care at Brookdale, formerly Harbor Crest. Thank you my dear friends. Memorial Service 1:30PM Thursday, October 29, 2015 at Temple Beth Shalom, 1322 E. 30th Ave., Spokane. Reception to follow.
