Ronald P. Hunter Obituary Ronald P. Hunter, age 66, passed away April 24, 2018 in Spokane, WA. He was born February 25, 1952 in Coos Bay, OR to Neal and Opal Hunter. After graduating high school, Ronald attended Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, OR and earned an Associate�s degree in Police Science. During this time, he was also working for the Douglas County Sheriff�s Office and for a short time worked for the Roseburg Merchant Police. After receiving his degree, Ronald went on to work for the Sutherlin City Police Department and Burns City Police Department. Ronald moved to Spokane in the fall of 1975 where he served in the US Air Force Strategic Air Command at Fairchild AFB in Spokane, WA. Ronald earned another Associate�s degree from Spokane Falls Community College and then a Bachelor�s degree in Business Administration from Eastern Washington University. After completing his Bachelor�s degree, Ronald worked for 20 years for UPS in Spokane and after that worked for a local security company, retiring at age 62 but continued working part time for Universal Security for a short time. Ronald loved hunting, the outdoors, old country music, and spending time with his family. He was a lifetime member of The North American Hunting Club as well as a member of: the NRA, the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Northwest Sportsman Club. Ronald is survived by his wife, Sylvia J. Hunter and her three children, Wallace (Angela) Dittrich and their two sons; Derek Dittrich and his son and daughter; and Ava-Marie (Sean) Reienes. He is also survived by his siblings, Leota Wolfgram of Oregon, Howard (Shirlee) Hunter of Loon Lake, WA and Christine (John) Ballard of Idaho; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as a stepdaughter and granddaughter in Alaska from a previous marriage and an adopted daughter and grandchildren in Spokane. A celebration of life will be held at 2pm on Sunday, May 20th in the Cascade Manufactured Home Park Clubhouse at 2311 W. 16th Ave., Spokane, WA 99224.
