September 01, 1943 - June 13, 2017
Ronald Ray Lindley Obituary (Age 73) Ronald Ray Lindley, of Spokane, passed away from complications due to ALS on June 13, 2017. Ron was born on Sept. 1, 1943 to Ray and Sarah Lindley. His father died when Ron was five years old and his mother died when he was 19. However, his life made a major shift toward the positive when he married the love of his life, Teresa Haugen. They had three children, whom he loved dearly, and he became a Christian. Ron had an intense passion for reading books, listening to music, drinking tea and watching football. He mostly read books about theology and science and always took the time to read a passage out of the bible every day. In his later years, he had full bookshelves from floor to ceiling in almost every room of his house. He was Elvis Presleys most devoted fan and loved all kinds of rock n roll, especially when it was played loudly. When he would put on Edgar Winters Frankenstein, his kids would dance around the house like wild banshees. Though an original L.A. Rams fan, Ron immediately took a liking to the newly formed Seattle Seahawks. Fortunately, he rarely got upset when the Seahawks performed poorly, but, whenever Jim Zorn connected with Steve Largent he would jump up and scream for joy at the top of his lungs. Ron worked at Safeway grocery stores for almost four decades. Except for a fantastic trip to Disneyland, he usually took the family to enjoy the ocean at Grays Harbor, Washington. Ron loved to take long walks around the city, often times four to six hours a day. He appreciated his friends, especially Debbie Hatcher and the folks at New Hope Christian Reformed Church. Ron hoped that everyone would come to know the joy of having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. His favorite scripture that he lived by was 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Ron is survived by his three children: Danya (Ron) Phelps, Ricky (Michele) Lindley, and Tami (Steve) Styren, and his nine grandchildren: Amanda, Jesse, Steven, Christa, Dillon, Michaela, Casey, Selena, and Spencer. The family would like to express deep gratitude for the caring and compassionate care from the staff at Royal Park Health and Rehab Facility. Memorial services will be held 10:00 Saturday, June 17, 2017 at the Sunset Chapel at Fairmount Memorial Park, 5200 W. Wellesley Avenue, Spokane, WA 99205. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Ronald, please visit our Tree Store. Read more Events JUN 13
