Ronald Thomas Powell Obituary (Age 84) Ronald Thomas Powell was born October 13, 1932 in Bossburg, WA to Peter Phillip Powell and Blanche (Salsman) Powell. He graduated in 1952 from Lewis and Clark High School of Spokane and enlisted in the United States Army on December 3, 1952. He honorably served two years of active duty as a meteorologist, during the Korean war era, the married Dorothy Rae (Irvine) Powell and raised his family in Spokane. He worked for Brown Trailer, Clark Equipment and Comet Trailer Corporation manufacturing semi-truck trailers and shipping containers. Ron was a family man, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and a good game of cards. On November 7, 2012, Ron was awarded the Ambassador of Peace Medal, with everlasting gratitude from the Republic of Korea for his service. Having led a full life, of 84 years, he entered into eternal rest on July 8, 2017, with two of his grandchildren by his side. He is survived by his three daughters, Ronda Kay (Powell) Dahl, Rebecca Sue (Powell) Johnson and Amy Charlene (Powell) Blankenship, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. Military honors will be given on Friday, September 22nd at 12:45pm at the Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 7th at 2pm at Heritage Funeral Home. Forever in our hearts.
