Rosemary Knopp Wood

August 11, 1936 - December 13, 2018

Rosemary Knopp Wood Obituary Rosemary Knopp Wood, 82, of Spokane, a three time cancer survivor, succumbed to her fourth encounter to join her Lord and Savior on December 13, 2018, with her daughter and son by her side. She was born to Albert and Martha Knopp on August 11, 1936 in Muncie IN. After graduating from Muncie Central High School in 1954, she started a long life of office and volunteer work, spanning three states (Indiana, New Mexico, and Washington State) and two other countries (Germany and England). After marrying Gene Wood, an Air Force officer, on July 10, 1955, she worked with the Civil Service at Air Force Bases in Lindsey, GER, Ramstein, GER, Holloman, NM, Lakenheath, UK, and Fairchild, WA, while also teaching Sunday and Bible school. Moving to Spokane in 1971, Rosemary worked as a secretary for District 81 and a sales representative and insurance agent for AAA. After retirement, in addition to volunteering for the Eagles and the Veteran�s Hospital, she was particularly proud of her support in a variety of roles to the Daughters of the Union Veterans of the Civil War and the Daughters of the American Revolution (Jonas Babcock Chapter). Rosemary had an active interest in civics, history, bible study, antiques, museums, travelling, writing, opera and gospel music. She also had a love of nature, birds and cats. Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, her brother George Knopp, her former spouse, Gene Wood and Elmer Josephsen, soul mate. She is survived by her children Diane Johnson and Nathan Wood as well as five grandchildren (Evan, Adam, Justin, and Trevor Wood and Benjamin Johnson) and seven great-grandchildren (Willa, Cora, Cameron, Teagyn, Zach, AvaJane and Lucy May). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Chapel.
