Russell "Rusty" G. Anderson Obituary
(Age 94)
Born September 17, 1915 in Northport, WA to Lillian and Tony Anderson. He married his beloved first wife Lillian and together they had their son, Terry. Rusty tragically lost both Lillian and their second son during childbirth. He later married his current wife Della, who he always referred to as "my pretty wife" or "Miss America" and became the father of her three children, Leone, Lloyd and Richard. He retired at the age of 60 from Burlington Northern Railroad. Rusty loved to hunt with son Lloyd and Bob and Bobbie Snyder. He set the Setting Course record at Wandermere Golf Course and other titles such as City Champion shooting a 62 in 1974. Rusty was Spokane City Champ in 1946 & 1947. He entered into rest on February 28, 2010 and was preceded in death by his siblings Tony, Howard and Elsie and grandsons Darin Anderson, Christopher Anderson and Johnnie Madsen. He is survived by his loving wife Della after 62 years of marriage; daughter Leone (Bill) Newman, Tucson, AZ; sons Lloyd (Betty) Anderson, Trout Creek, MT, Terry (Chris) of Bend, OR, and Richard (Mary Kay) of Spokane; 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and a very special niece Nancy Sweitzer. It was such a treat to be invited for breakfast where he'd make his special Swedish Hotcakes, refusing help from anyone and delighting in pampering the grandkids with his specialty. He will be dearly missed by all of his loved ones. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Corliss Newman and the loving care from Hospice of Spokane. At his request a private family gathering will take place at the time of his (burial, passing) and a celebration of his life will take place this summer at WGC. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Jr. Golf Fund @ Wandermere Golf Course or Hospice of Spokane.
