Ruth passed away peacefully in her home on May 9, 2026. She is survived by her husband, Tom and daughters, Kellie Marlow (Bret), Kristen Storment (Zac), granddaughter, Abby Espinoza (Zach) and great grandchild Tate as well as her sister, Kay Sasaki and brother, Dale Sasaki (Joni). A private service will be held for Ruth in July.
Ruth was my wife’s roommate in Hawaii at their first teaching job. They met their future husbands there. I met Ruth in 1969. She was the kind of person who got the job done. She was kind, thoughtful and fun to be around. She was a great middle school teacher. She brought her Japanese/Hawaiian culture to the classroom and was well respected by students, parents and staff. She is with Amy I am sure. I miss her.
