Ryland "Skip" Davis Obituary (Age 77) Ryland "Skip" Davis peacefully left this world on October 7th, 2017 in Spokane, Washington. The cornerstone of his beloved family, Skip is survived and dearly missed by his wife Sharon; children Lindsay and Zach; grand- children Audrey and Chase, all of Spokane; and his sister Pamela Davis of Falls Church, Virginia. Skip was born in Richmond, Virginia, spending his youth there and in nearby Charlottesville. He graduated with a Bachelor's degree from Virginia Military Institute, then a Master's degree from The George Washington University - School of Business. A hospital management residency took him west to the University of California San Francisco. There, his career began to blossom and most importantly, he met his soulmate Sharon. His kindness and quiet strength elevated many people during his career, professional volunteerism, and lifetime of devotion to charitable organizations, including Sacred Heart Medical Center & affiliated hospitals, Angel Flight, Boy Scouts of America, Chamber of Commerce, Life Science Washington, Red Lion Hotels Corporation, Northwest Museum of Arts and Culture, Felts Field, Spokane International Airport, AHANA and the Michael P. Anderson Memorial at the INB Performing Arts Center. Skip was passionate about family and friends, flying and fishing. He will always be remembered as a warm soul, quick to laugh, with generosity and humility at his core. To know Skip was to love him. Those whose lives he touched are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at 1:00 pm on Sunday, October 22nd at the Historic Davenport Hotel. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Sisters Of Providence Retirement Fund, 1801 Lind Ave. SW, Suite 9016, Renton, WA 98057-9016, or Providence Health Care Foundation, West 101 Eighth Ave., Spokane, WA 99204.
