June 18, 1942 - February 13, 2018

Samuel Jennings Ritchie Obituary (Age 75) Passed away February 13, 2018 with the same high quality dignity that he lived his life. Sam was born June 18, 1942 in Algona, WA. He is survived by his children Tracy, Gigi, Nathan, Michael and Jeremy; 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He led an active, fulfilling life. He was a charter boat captain in Westport, WA for several years, raced cracker box boats and was Rookie of the Year in 1983 and National Champion in 1985. Sam loved drag racing and raced his 1969 Oldsmobile 442 at the Seattle International Raceway. He built and ran the Blue Pelican Restaurant at Priest Lake. His favorite (and safe) pastime was recreational fishing. To support all the fun he had worked as a meat cutter for many years. We give special thanks to Madisons Cottage AFH where Sam lived for the last three years. They gave above and beyond the care that anyone could expect. At his request a private family service will be held. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Samuel, please visit our Tree Store. Read more Events FEB 13
