Sharon Arlee MacPherson

Sharon Arlee MacPherson was born on May 20, 1947 in Wendell, ID to Myron Spencer and Darlene Spencer. She was the second of what would be six kids in the family.

 Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Bob, and daughter Meagan MacPherson.

Sharon is survived by her brothers Bill Spencer, Larry Spencer, and Michael Spencer, and her sister Kathy Church;  her children Katy Spaulding (Mike), Sheila Simpson (Mike Mohondro), and Jamie Simpson (Compass), grandchildren Dylan Mohondro, Corrigan Mohondro, Sam Spaulding, Faith Spaulding, and Bailey Spaulding as well as her great grandchildren Harper Mohondro, Weston Mohondro, Mason Mohondro, Landrie Mohondro, Isla Mohondro, and her dog Bug.

Sharon put herself through college twice as a single mother, obtaining an AA from Spokane Community College and a BA from Boise State University.

Sharon worked in accounting at WSU, the Idaho State School and Hospital, and retired as an employee of the State of Idaho.

After retirement Sharon obtained her Master Gardener certification and maintained a beautifully landscaped yard. Sharon was a member of Nampa Christian Church and did the accounting for the church for several years as well as volunteering every week at the church’s free lunch.

Sharon enjoyed traveling to visit relatives around the country, fishing with her daughter Jamie, shopping for plants with Katy, and cooking for family.

Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, her older brother Bob, and her daughter Meagan MacPherson.

Sharon is survived by her brothers Bill Spencer, Larry Spencer, and Michael Spencer, and her sister Kathy Church;  her daughters Katy Spaulding (Mike) and Jamie Simpson (Compass) of Boise, and Sheila Simpson (Mike Mohondro) of Spokane, grandchildren Dylan Mohondro, Corrigan Mohondro, Sam Spaulding, Faith Spaulding, and Bailey Spaulding as well as her great grandchildren Harper Mohondro, Weston Mohondro, Mason Mohondro, Landrie Mohondro, Isla Mohondro, and her dog Bug.

A graveside service will be held on January 20, 2026 at 12pm at Riverside Cemetery followed by a gathering at 17313 W. Bowie Road, Spokane WA. A memorial will be held in the late Spring of 2026 in Nampa, ID.
