Sharon L. Griffin Obituary (Age 79) Sharon Lee Griffin passed away January 30, 2017 in Spokane Valley, WA. Sharon was born in Bertha, MN to Christopher and Lydia Freeman, the last of three children. She graduated from Rogers High School in 1955 and joined the Army where she met George Griffin and they were married in 1959. They had three children and after George retired in 1969, they moved to Spokane to be closer to family. Sharon was a secretary for the East Valley School District and retired in 1992 to care for George until his death in 1998. Sharon loved to travel, play pinnacle and visit casinos in the Northwest until she had a stroke in 2013. For the past two years, Sharon was a resident at Sullivan Park Care Center. Sharon was a member of the Eagles Aux #3433 and for many years the Griffin Girls could be found at Daves Bar & Grill on Saturday mornings. Sharon is survived by her children, Sue (Rod) LaFrance, Tana (Ken) Martin and Jay (Allison) Griffin; five grandchildren; three great-grandsons; brother, Tom (Darlene) Freeman; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and her dear friend, Aunt Pat. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Sharon, please visit our Tree Store.
