Sue Obituary
Shizuko ?Sue? Kaiser passed away October 28, 2021, just shy of her 94TH birthday. Sue was born on November 3, 1927 in Oshima Japan. In her younger years she lived in Okinawa and it was there that she eventually met her husband, USAF veteran Richard Kaiser. They married and they later moved to the U.S., first living in Sumter South Carolina and then later moving to Spokane where they raised their three daughters; Junko (Stephan Arulaid), Linda (Martin Kridler) and Janet (Jared Clegg). For the past 59 years Sue called Spokane her home.
Sue was blessed with three grandchildren; Courtney (Brian Brenner), Cameron (Catherine Garcia) and Lindsey. She was able to share her later years with her great grandson (Cayson) and was looking forward to a soon to be born great grandchild.
Sue loved her family, friends and her pets. She had a passion for playing bingo and spending time playing slot machines at the casinos. She also enjoyed watching and rooting for the Seattle Seahawks. Sue lived for 10 years with her daughter Janet and son-in-law Jared in Seattle and they would watch the Seahawks games religiously with Janet always making a new and tasty snack treat to enjoy during the games.
Later Sue moved and lived with her daughter Linda and son-in-law Martin in Spokane where she got to enjoy visiting with her Japanese friends in their later years. She also got to visit with her grandchildren when they came to visit. She was fortunate to have lived in Spokane when her grand children were growing up and she sometimes would take them to her favorite buffet ? on her own ? for lunch.
Sue was a sweet feisty lady who when she first came to the United States had a limit command of the English vocabulary to deal with, had never driven and had no prior knowledge of how things get done here that many of us daily take for granted. She had no other family here to assist here when her husband unexpectedly passed away and she persevered. She worked outside of the home while making sure her daughters did well in school and that their needs were met.
She enjoyed making favorite food dishes from her youth and continued cooking for as long as she could. She always made a holiday favorite, Stir Fried Rice and her barbecued chicken made everyone?s mouth water.
Sue will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard Kaiser.
Junko, Linda , Janet , their spouses and family thank you all for coming today to help celebrate the life of Sue!
