Stanley Ara Woodhurst Obituary (Age 79) Stanley A. Woodhurst passed away June 4, 2018 in Spokane, WA. Stan was born in Spokane on February 19, 1939 in Spokane to Ara H. and Amy Isabelle Woodhurst. He graduated from North Central High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he served our country for 16 years, including tours in Vietnam and Okinawa, Japan. His position in the Navy was primarily a cryptologist. Stan received several medals during his time in the service as a Private First Class. Stan retired with a medical discharge in 1978 and went on to get his Bachelor of Arts and Science in Business Administration. He then worked for the Department of Defense and the Department of Labor and Industries. He later retired to take care of his ailing parents. Stan loved the horse races and was an avid Gonzaga Basketball fan. Stan is survived by his siblings, Shirley Christiansen, Janet Short and Dennis Woodhurst; special nephews, David (Sandy) Christiansen, John (Theresa) Christiansen and Al (Lonna) Christiansen; special nieces, Amy (Marty) White and Linda (Orlando) Ferraro; as well as several other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents. A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, June 20th at 2:30pm at Riverside Memorial Park, 508 N. Government Way, Spokane, WA.
