July 04, 1954 - June 30, 2017

Steven R. Tomlinson Obituary Steven R. Tomlinson, 62, of Camas, Washington passed away on June 30, 2017 in Portland, Oregon. He was born July 4, 1954 in Spokane, Washington to Ray & Verla Tomlinson. Steven grew up and attended school in Spokane, graduating from Ferris High School in 1972. During his high school career, he was a prominent athlete and was very involved in school activities. He played football, basketball and ran track. At one point Steven was so determined to get his letter in track that, sick with serious pneumonia, he walked the 440 yard dash. Following high school, he attended WSU, where he received his masters degree in pharmacy. He started his career as a pharmacist by moving his new family to Baker City, Oregon. After several years he moved to Gresham, Oregon and then finally back to Washington. Over the years he worked at Fred Meyer, Safeway and finally at Walgreens as a pharmacy manager. He spent many years training Pharmacy Techs and encouraging people to further their education. Steven was a life-long member of the WSU Alumni Association. He was a dedicated member of his Ferris High School Class of 72. In his younger days he was an Eagle Scout and received the God and Country Award. Steven enjoyed volunteering at the free clinic in Vancouver for over 30 years. Even though he was a workaholic, he did love to travel when he had time, but his absolute favorite thing was spending time with his parents, daughters and grandchildren. He will be remembered as a hard-working, incredibly generous man with a great sense of humor. Steven is survived by his daughters Jennifer (Luke) Mahoney of Saco, ME and Casey (Darral) Eason of Meridian, ID; parents Ray and Verla Tomlinson of Spokane, WA; grandchildren Jack, Henry, Sidney and Zachary; sister Nanette (Jerry) Knoell of Fayetteville, NC; brothers Stuart Tomlinson (Edra) of Maryland Heights, MO and Kris Tomlinson (Barbara) of Moses Lake, WA. A celebration of Stevens life will be held at 10am on Saturday, July 22, at Heritage Funeral Home in Spokane, WA. Reverend Barbara Caviezel of Moran United Methodist Church will be officiating.
