Tawnya (States) Swanson Obituary (Age 52) Tawnya Swanson passed away November 2, 2017 after a long battle with ovarian cancer. She was born on August 26, 1965 in Weiser, ID to Ron States and Joy Moore. Tawnya grew up in the Boise Valley working with her family in the fruit stand business starting at the early age of seven. She graduated high school from Gem State Academy in Caldwell, ID. She went to various colleges finally earning her Accounting degree from University of Northern Colorado. She was married to Rusty Keele in 1988 and they settled in the Spokane, WA area where she became the accountant for Upper Columbia Conference of Seventh Day Adventists. They divorced in 1997. Tawnya then married the love of her life, Dan Swanson, in 1998. They spent as much time as possible in nature rock climbing, biking, hiking, back country skiing, rafting and fishing. Tawnya also had a passion for art. Her skills included welding, stained glass, photography, quilting, scrapbooking and drawing. She was at her happiest when she had a creative project going. Tawnya is survived by her beloved husband, Dan Swanson of Spokane, WA; father, Ron States; mother, Joy Moore; stepfather, Bob Moore; brothers, Reggie States and Brody States; stepsisters, JoElla Purviance and Marletta Cantrell; stepbrother, Dan Moore; nephew, Broderick States; and nieces, Diamond States and Ivy Johnson States. Services will be held at the Spokane Valley Adventist Church on Sunday, November 12th at 11am.
