Thomas Edward Smith Obituary
(Age 80) Thomas Edward Smith passed away October 16, 2017 in Post Falls, ID. He was born January 2, 1937 in Schenectady, NY to Melvin Earle and Nellie Irene Smith. He attended Mt. Terrace High School, enlisted in the Army 1955 and subsequently the Air Force in 1958; he served a total of 23 years. Tom served in both Vietnam and Korea. He married Donna Marie Shene in 1967. After retiring from the military, he worked at Valley General Hospital and Rockwood Retirement Home before retiring himself. He lived in Upstate NY, Northern Maine, and retired in Spokane, WA in 1978. Tom enjoyed watching all sports including the Mariners, Seahawks and he was a dedicated Gonzaga Bulldog fan. He is survived by his wife, Donna; their four children, Tim (Jodi) Dupell, Mark Dupell, Lynn (Dave) Richards, Chrissy (Matt) Taylor; and seven grandchildren, Hayden, Kendal, Jackson, Kyle, Victoria, Jori and Aubrey. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 27th from 10am 5pm and Saturday, October 28th from 8am 5pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 29th at 1pm at Heritage Funeral Home immediately followed by a graveside service at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.
