TRAINHAM, Thomas Edward, 93, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 in Spokane Washington.

Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Judith (Wade) Trainham, his parents,

James Arthur, Sr., and Delia Mary (Martin) Trainham; his brothers, George,

James Jr., and William, and his sister Louise (Trainham Lasseter) Taylor.

Tom is survived by his daughters, Sharon Trainham of Mount Vernon, Illinois,

and Lynne (Dan) Arch and Tom’s darling granddaughter Ellie Rose Arch of Spokane, Washington, and many beloved nieces and nephews.

Tom was a good and decent man who cared well for his family and friends. He loved boating, fishing and camping with his family.  He and Judy enjoyed a happy marriage of 53 years together. After Judy’s passing, Tom moved to Spokane, Washington to be near his family. While he is with Judy once again, they will be missed more than they know.

Tom left high school early to enlist in the United States Navy in 1951 to serve during the Korean War on the destroyer USS Eversole.  Tom never lost his love for the Navy and the sea. During his years of military service, he received many medals and recognition. Later he earned his college degree and enjoyed a lifelong career as an engineer. After retirement, he taught computer classes for engineering and technical applications.

The family is especially grateful for friendships he developed at Rockwood Lane and for the kind and patient care of the nurses and staff at Legacy Court Senior Living and Gentiva Hospice.

The Committal Service for Tom and Judy Trainham will be Friday, December 5, 2025, 2:30 p.m. at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 West Espanola Road, Medical Lake, Washington. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to veterans’ charity: Gary Sinise Foundation, PO Box 1858, Merrifield, VA 22116 or online at garysinisefoundation.org. Heritage Funeral & Cremation, Spokane, Washington, is handling arrangements.
