Thomas Ian Cameron

Thomas Ian Cameron, 84, passed away on April 15, 2025, at Sacred Heart in Spokane, WA., with his wife Kathy and his daughter Dyan at his bedside.

 

Tom was born on August 8th, 1940, in Saint Paul Minnesota to Wallace and Della Cameron. He attended Cretin High School and graduated in 1958. After graduation, Tom spent 8 years in the Air Force as an aircraft electronics tech traveling the world spending most of his time in Spain. After the military, Tom went to work at Motorola Semiconductor and completed his BSEE at Arizona State University. Tom was married to Laura Gatti from 1967 to 1986. They had two children together, Mark and Dyan. The family settled in Spokane in 1975. Soon after he became active in the local running community. He served as a board member of the Lilac Bloomsday Association and in 1982 he started the wheelchair racing division. Tom always said that the work he did with Bloomsday and the wheelchair division was a highlight of his yearly activities.
