Official Obituary of Thomas Powell

Born to Kenneth and Lucille Powell in Spokane, WA. Tom was their 4th child. He shared that special birthdate with his grandfather Orville.

Tom had a memorable childhood with adventures at Pend Oreille River, fishing, swimming, riding dirt bikes, camping, shooting BB guns, target practicing and hunting. Tom experienced many years with cousins at his grandparents’ Priest River farm where he learned dairy farming, haying, and taking care of farm animals. He loved the outdoors and had the chance to spend a week in Alaska with his brothers and nephew. Tom enjoyed many outdoor times in Washington, Idaho and Montana.

Tom was one of the most endearing, loving, infectious people you could know. When you spent time with him, he would always bring the laughter and joy so that you would never forget that moment. He found the joy in the simple things in life, it could be something as simple as a bowl of homemade venison chili to shake off the chill on a cold winter's day. The thing that he enjoyed the most was spending time with family and friends because he knew the value of both. A heart as big as anything. He will be missed, but always remembered. Tom graduated from Roger’s High School in Spokane, Wa.

His career included boat manufacturing, wood working, post frame building, steel working, with his main interest being in brake press metal fabrication. Tom is survived by 3 brothers, Arnold, Kerry and Warner. 1 sister Lenora. He has many aunts and uncles and cousins. He also has many nieces and nephews.

The family will be hosting a potluck memorial for Tom on August 24, 2024, at 12:00 at Beck Park, 2610 N Howell Rd, Post Falls, Id.
