Tom Lindsey Obituary
(Age 88)
Tom Lindsey went home to be with his Savior on March 27, 2012. He was born in Mena, AR on October 15, 1923 to Rosie Ardoin and David Lindsey. He grew up during the great depression and spent much of his childhood and adolescence working long, hard hours. He then joined the Navy and served in WWII. After his service, he met Betty Lou Kelley when she waited on him in a small caf? in northern California. They married, started a family, and eventually settled in Ventura, CA. After serving as a firefighter and working in construction for many years, he started his own grading business. He continued to work hard, took pride in conducting his business with integrity, and ran his business successfully until his retirement. After retirement, he and Betty moved to Spokane, WA to be closer to children and grandchildren. He became an active and generous member of North Addison Baptist Church, grew an amazing garden and enjoyed family barbeques. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his integrity, his mischievous sense of humor and his generosity of spirit. Most importantly, he will be remembered by his grandchildren as "Popoo". He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty; sons: John, Bill and Mike; daughters: Judie and Sandi; eight grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and two brothers. The family wishes to thank Clare Bridge staff for their compassionate care. A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 31, 2012 from 10:00AM to 5:00PM and on Monday, April 2, 2012 from 8:00AM to 10:45AM at Heritage Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will be held on April 2, 2012 at 11:00AM at Greenwood Memorial Terrace with a Memorial Service to follow at 1:00PM at North Addison Baptist Church.
