(Age 93) Tressia Carson Anderson went on her final ride December 17, 2016 in Spokane, WA. Tressia was born June 15, 1923 to Olaf Carson and Marie Olson Carson in rural Ferry County near Boyds, WA. She was the eighth child in a family of nine children. She attended elementary school in Boyds and high school in Marcus and Wilson Creek and graduated from Wilson Creek High School. Later she attended WSU, Gonzaga, U of W, San Francisco State, U of MT and graduated from Carroll College in 1979 with a degree in Political Science.Tressia met Henry T. Anderson while they were both working at Pacific Telephone and Telegraph in the late 1940s. They were married in Seattle, WA on June 20, 1953. They have two children, William J. Anderson and Mary E. May.Due to Henry's work and having being transferred to different locations Tressia worked many jobs including PT & T, Secretary in Spokane, and Washington D.C., Steno-type transcriptionist at the State Highway Department in Olympia, WA and the State Health Dept. in Helena, MT. Her greatest joy and job was as wife and mother at which she excelled!Because of their many moves, Tressia did a lot of volunteer work which included Camp Fire Girls, Brownies, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Swim Team Mom, League of Women Voters, and a Lutheran Retirement home in Camp Hill, PA. She was always active in the Lutheran Church. She was a lifetime member of VASA, a Swedish Fraternity and served as Chairman from 1997-1998. She was also active with Daughters of the Nile, DeMolay Boys and Rainbow Girls.She was passionate about her garden and totally enjoyed the beauty she created in it, as did we all!Tressia is survived by her children, Bill Anderson and his wife, Susan, Mary May, and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Becca Merrill, Grayson Merrill, Hannah Anderson, Tyler May and Nicholas May; great-grandchild, Kaylie May; as well as many nieces and nephews, all whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in passing by her husband, Henry; parents, Olaf and Marie; brothers: Orville, Clifford and Elmer; sisters, Gladys, Francis, Leona, Virginia and Opal.Services will be held on Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 11:00 am at Heritage Funeral Home, Spokane, WA with a graveside service following at 1:00 pm at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, Spokane, WA.She will be dearly missed but her vivid spirit and love of life is an ongoing inspiration to us! We love you always and forever Mom!
