Velma Lorrain McLain Obituary Born Nov. 19, 1922 passed away on Oct. 5, 2013 at St. Josephs Care Center at the age of 90. Velma is preceded in death by her grandson Troy Fowler, son-in-law Ron Knorr, husband Wayne McLain, sister and brother-in-law Jerri and Al Rothacker, sister-in-law Sally Aydelotte, and two children: Richard and Crystal. She is survived by her brother Weldon "Bud" Aydelotte of Wisconsin; her children in Spokane, John Warfield (Sharyn), Joan Fowler (Jim), Cheryl Corey (Cliff), Bill McLain (Cynthia), Cindy Knorr, and from Ritzville, Melody Davis (Rich); 13 grand; 17 great-grand and six great-great-grandchildren. Velma served three years in the Navy during WWII as a photo tech and followed the career into photography for the Spokesman Review, being one of the first women to work in the industry. She loved to crochet blankets for the grandchildren and work on puzzles. Donations can be made to St. Josephs Care Center.
