Vernon Cornell Thorson Obituary One of the Thorson Boys of High Landing, MN has passed away after a brief bout with cancer, on Sunday, December 27. He was 87 years old. Vern was a veteran of the Korean War, awarded with silver and bronze stars while serving with the Army?s 2nd ID. He retired as a letter carrier after 30 years with the US Post Office. Vern was a voracious reader, a devout Mariner Fan and a lover of golf. He was of quick wit and was known to have enjoyed a ?cool one? now and then, he was also fond of placing a wager at the tracks and enjoyed the card room! Dad was so much more- simply though-he was a good guy?a good man! He was preceded in death by his ex-wife Donna and daughter Christine. He is survived by 4 brothers; Art, Carroll, Delano and Lowell, 4 children; Kim, Gary, Terry and Jon, along with 3 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. A Special thank you to Horizon Hospice and nurse Carolyn Wiggs. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Horizon Hospice, 123 W. Cascade Way, Spokane, WA 99208, or any animal shelter. Viewing will take place Friday, January 8 from 10:00am to 5:00 pm at Heritage Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 9 at 11:00 am at Heritage Chapel.
