Vernon "Scotty" Leon Richards Obituary (Age 90) Passed away February 16, 2010. He was born in Bellingham, WA March 3, 1919. He served in the US Navy Seabees in WWII and was discharged in 1944. He married Beryl Darrow Feb. 11, 1945 and they just celebrated 65 years of marriage. He was a car salesman at Wendle Ford for over 20 years and did various construction projects including a church, homes and fireplaces. He enjoyed gardening and all kinds of work. He was a member of First Church of the Open Bible for 51 years. Survivors include his wife Beryl; daughter Kathleen and husband Terry Bair; grandchildren Troy Haws, Marlee Kavadias, Lori Sowal, Debbie Miller, Teresa Slade; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; a sister Margie Hunter; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Leon and Edith Richards, 5 brothers Miles, Glenn, Paul, Wayne and Pete Richards and a sister Pearl Skeen. Funeral Service 10:00AM Monday Feb. 22, at Turning Pointe Open Bible Church, 11911 N. Division. Graveside interment at 1:00PM at Fairmount Memorial Park.
