Vincent "Duffy" Eugene Ready, III

18-Jun-16

Vincent "Duffy" Eugene Ready, III Obituary An adoring husband, a devoted father, beloved friend and deep man of faith rode into the arms of Jesus while competing in the Medical Lake Triathlon on Saturday June 18th, 2016. Born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1950, Duffy?s family relocated to Denver where he was raised. As a youth he was active and went on to be a three-sport athlete in high school, especially excelling in baseball. Duffy graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Masters in physical education. There he met and married his college sweetheart and the love of his life, Susie Vannoy, on September 21, 1974. From the day they met to his last day, Duffy was endlessly romancing his soul mate. Duffy was an Athletic Trainer at Stanford University for 3 years and then went on to receive his bachelor of science in Physical Therapy at the University of Colorado. In 1979 Duffy and Susie moved to Spokane, WA to begin what would become his distinguished physical therapy career where he was known for his integrity and impeccable character in the workplace. Over the decades of his career, thousands of his patients would attest that his care went far beyond the physical injuries, into the needs of their individual stories. His community contributions included multiple volunteering positions, such as serving with the Special Olympics, Hoopfest, and as the lead Athletic Trainer at Shadle Park High School for 22 years. Duffy was happiest amidst family, friends and activities. Tennis, boating at Priest Lake, cycling, swimming, gardening, triathlon competitions, snow/water-skiing, and line dancing were point-stations for relationships and caring conversations. In his final two years he quietly, yet fiercely lost over 127 pounds. Duffy finished his ?life-race? at the top of his game, and in the best shape of his life. Duffy needed no excuse for trips to the Home Depot, or to cruise around on his John Deere tractor with giggling grandkids piled on his lap. He had an ?egg?- cellent sense of humor, always looking to ?crack? a ?yoke.? Duffy didn?t know a stranger and he and Susie continually opened their home as a refuge and place of respite. His generosity was unsurpassed. He was a servant to all. A lover of God, lover of people, Duffy will be indescribably missed. Duffy?s greatest treasures were those he leaves behind: His wife, Susie Ready of 42 years; Son, Troy and wife Jenny (Myles 7, Keats 5, Tanner 3) Daughter, Holly and husband Luc (Vann 3, Nora 8 mo.) Son, Tyler and wife Erin (Brynn 2, baby due Oct.) Daughter, Brooke and husband Gavin (Liv 1, baby due Aug.) His sisters, Susie and husband Bill Trent, and Julie and husband ?Z? Zadigan. Duffy, The love you gave is surpassed only by the void you leave! Celebration Service to be held at: Ridge at Rivermere, 10500 N.
